Just before the Tour de Yorkshire hits town, we organise a ride along the last mile of the course, along Royal Albert Drive in Scarborough right up to the Finishing Line.
This is the third year that Scarborough and Ryedale Community Cycling C.I.C. have organised a community ride for the Tour de Yorkshire, "The final Mile". By using adapted bikes, riders of all ages and all ability are able to join in the fun and excitement of an international sporting event. This year SRCC also added children's races, thanks to their partnership with Welcome to Yorkshire and the Yorkshire Bank who manage the legacy of the Tour de Yorkshire, The Bike Library Scheme.
The photos show riders from:
Alzheimer's Society (as the chosen charity for the TdY they rode at the head of our procession)
101 year old Stan Chadwick and 85 year old Brian Musson (poster boy for TdY tv ad) with Paragon.
Yorkshire Coast Sight Support
St. Mark's Church fund raisers
Yorkshire Bank (manager and team) they fund the Bike Libraries - the legacy of the TdY
40 children from our Bike Library in sprint races over the final 200m
